Where is bodyboarding at? Where did it come from and where is it going? Two forefathers of the sport take a deep dive into our favourite subject.

Where is bodyboarding at? Where did it come from and where is it going? Two forefathers of the sport take a deep dive into our favourite subject.

There are differing opinions about where the sport is at. There seems to be an obsession that it is in a downward spiral and whether it will ever return to the former glory of the 90’s?

Jay and Rob explore the pressing issues of participation, the effect of the pandemic, what ‘Board Agains’ are, the world bodyboarding tour, the effect of the Olympics, grass roots riding, how many pro riders really make money out of the sport and other hot topics.

Jay and Rob love to wax lyrical, in between bodyboarding sessions during their annual Costa Rica and El Salvador Bodyboard-Holidays. Jay And Vicki Reale join Rob on the trips as the celebrity guests. Often during sunset drinks the associated crew will chat about everything bodyboarding related and many of the subjects in this podcast often crop up.

Fancy scoring some epic waves, chilling on some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, receiving advice from the best in the business  and joining in hot boogie debates like this? Costa Rican Bodyboarding takes a lot of beating and El Salvador is the hottest find on the world surf map over the last few years! Don’t hesitate, join us!

I’ve competed at bodyboarding since I was 13. I won my first open division age 14. Then became obsessed with bodyboarding and competed all over the country then the world.  My best year I won 11 events in the UK and internationally. My best result ever was ranking the highest European in the World professional championships at Pipeline. I won over 30 events when I was competing full time.  I have written and edited 4 books on surfing and bodyboarding. Two of which have gone on to be best sellers in their area of specialty.
