What People Say
"An amazing week starting out on my bodyboard journey. The instructors are at the top of their game but super patient and encouraging, and use their skills to explain technique as well as ensure a great time in the water. Lovely, supportive and encouraging group of women, who have been a privilege to get to know. I’ll be back!"

Join this unforgettable women’s bodyboard coaching weekend, designed to elevate your skills in a supportive, fun, and laid-back environment. With expert coaching from the Women + Waves team, you’ll enjoy tailored instruction, photo and video analysis, and a structured progression plan to guide you through the four levels of bodyboarding. Each session is packed with encouragement and real-time feedback, ensuring every ride, paddle out, and wipeout is an opportunity to improve. Beyond the water, take advantage of discounts at local shops, cafes, and activities, and connect with like-minded women eager to share the stoke. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced rider, we’ll help you make the most of the best waves for your ability.
Practical (In the Water):
Theory (On Land):
Every aspect of this weekend is tailored to your growth as a bodyboarder. From in-water coaching to land-based theory sessions, we focus on building your skills, confidence, and connection to the ocean. You’ll leave with new techniques, better wave knowledge, and incredible memories shared with supportive, like-minded women. Packed with progression, friendship, and fun, this is more than just a coaching weekend—it’s the ultimate bodyboarding experience.
On both days your bodyboarding sessions will be filmed by a photographer on the beach, and a member of the team in-water with the Go-Pro. These photos and videos will be used for detailed video analysis feedback sessions to fast-track progression.
The opportunity to analyse footage of yourself is one of the most useful ways to learn, as it increases your self-awareness, and helps you visualise your own performance. You’ll have access to all of these photographs and videos after the weekend via our easy-to-use online platform.

AIRBNB
In the heart of Newquay, overlooking Towan and with stunning views stretching all the way to Watergate, check out Lotus Lounge. This two-story flat has a sun deck and can sleep up to 8 people. Also check out their properties on Pentire Headland, Little Lotus and Ocean Lotus!
Cliff House has stood proud with its four identical tall neighbours on Fore Street since it was built over 100 years ago. These grand iconic buildings were originally holiday homes for the gentry as Newquay established itself as a destination for the wealthy to take in the sea air at the beginning of the 20th Century. Cliff House is located in the heart of Newquay close to many great restaurants.
It has breathtaking sea views over Towan Beach which can be accessed via a footpath, just a stone’s throw from the property. Fistral Beach, one of the best surfing beaches in Britain, is less than a 10-minute walk away. Following extensive renovations, Cliff House plugs that gap between large hotels and traditional seaside guest houses. Bodyboard Holidays customers can benefit from a 10% discount when booking directly with Cliff House and using the code: BODYBOARDHOLIDAYS10
Why not check out Lazy Waves who boast stunning sea views overlooking Towan Beach? Roll out of bed and right into the surf! Both the Travel Lodge or Premier Inn in Newquay also benefit from awesome sea views.
Camping
For those of you who prefer a slightly more wild adventure, have a look at our favourite camping spot – Trethiggey Holiday Park. For the van-lifers, there are also wild camping spots in the area if you are lucky enough to find that perfect place!
If these options aren’t what you are looking for you can also browse Booking.com and Airbnb as there are countless options in the area.
Starting the Day Right
Kick off the day with an optional coastal café meet-up, where you can enjoy a morning coffee and a delicious breakfast menu while soaking in stunning sea views. It’s the perfect way to check the waves and chat with fellow bodyboarders in a relaxed atmosphere before diving into the day’s activities.
Keeping Yourself Fueled
To make the most of our time on the waves, we ask participants to bring a packed lunch for both days. Flexible lunch breaks allow us to adapt to the tides, with alfresco dining along the coast during our surfari sessions. Stay energised with snacks like fruit and nuts, and don’t forget a reusable water bottle and mug.
Saturday Evening Meal
A highlight of the weekend is the optional Saturday evening meal at one of our favourite local beachside restaurants. After a full day of bodyboarding, we’ll unwind with a relaxed dinner featuring delicious, locally sourced dishes. Cornwall’s renowned food scene, paired with good company and a chilled ambience, makes for the perfect end to the day. It’s a great chance to connect with others, share stories, and celebrate your progress. All dietary requirements are catered for.
Equipment is not included in the cost of the weekend. If you decide not to bring your own kit (or you don’t own it) to hire equipment for the week the prices are as follows:

You may be in a different group suited to your ability, however, there will be plenty of time to see each other back at the villa and during our social evening meals.
We choose the time of year and location for our events based on local knowledge and historical swell data. In the event of flat waves or stormy conditions, we may move the coaching to The Wave in Bristol to guarantee waves that are appropriate for bodyboarding. There will be an additional fee to supplement the cost of this arrangement.
If a move to The Wave is not possible, we will offer alternative activities to help you get the most out of the ocean conditions. This may include Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP), Coasteering, Kayaking, or other coastal activities.
We may also adjust the format of the weekend. For example, choosing to run all of the sessions on Sunday if that’s when the waves are at their best.
Please visit our T&Cs for more information.
With decades of experience and knowledge within our team, we pick the best dates when the surf conditions are most consistent and will be most suitable for the group. We’ll send you a brief predicted forecast in the pre-weekend pack on the Wednesday before the weekend.
