Based just outside Newquay, Cornwall, Damien Prisk has been bodyboarding for over 30 years. Mr Prisk has an incredible knowledge of Cornish surf breaks, wind directions, swell and tides. You don’t get as good as him without being in the right place for every swell. He’s the UK’s most successful competitor ever and he’ll share his knowledge to help you get the absolute most from bodyboarding.

A lifelong bodyboarder, James has been riding waves since 1986. He grew up surfing Godrevy and Gwithian, and now calls the south coast of Cornwall home — regularly surfing spots all over Cornwall. We first talent scouted James during one of our Costa Rica trips, he was attending as a guest and was shredding! After which we invited him to complete our in-house Bodyboard Instructor training, then his shadowing hours before completing  his beach lifeguard qualification. After a career in the fire service, he’s now fully immersed in coaching with Bodyboard Holidays and our sister company Newquay Activity Centre, loving the chance to share his passion with others. For him, bodyboarding has always been about the joy of travel, good waves, and good mates — and now, seeing that same stoke in his daughter Chloe. When there’s no swell, he’s usually out coast walking or off on two wheels on his mountain or motorbike. His favourite surf destinations? The tropical waves of Costa Rica or cruising down the French coast in his camper van.
