5 Reasons Why International Bodyboarders Love Costa Rica

January 31, 2016

Costa Rican Bodyboarding in January is pure bliss. Tropical water temperatures, empty line ups and a fantastic laid back lifestyle make for an incredible experience. With riders from all over the world on this year’s trip we asked their opinions on why they loved it so much.

I learned 25 new bodyboarding techniques on the first day

“The best part of the trip for me was increasing my knowledge and skill base with bodyboarding. I carefully took notes of all the points that I wanted to remember. I learned 25 new bodyboarding techniques on the first day. Through out the week I put these in to play and learned cut backs, trimming with a higher line, spins and nearly landed my first rolls. I also won the fun ‘Costa Rica invitational’ bodyboard comp that we held. Totally stoked and definitely signing up for the 2017 Costa Rica trip.”

The flight to Costa Rica is only $200 USD return from Florida

“The flight to Costa Rica is only $200 USD return trip from Florida. It makes it super accessible. I loved the video feedback, which helped with my drop knee turns. We surfed lots and lots, which is the way that I like it!”

The waves were good everyday, nice size, good form. Lots of video was taken to help you improve your skills

“This was an extremely well thought out bodyboarding trip. The staff thought of everything and made my life easy. Transportation was a breeze from the moment they picked me up at the airport. The waves were good everyday, nice size, good form. Lots of video was taken to help you improve your skills. The coaching was spot on and tailored to my needs. I just can’t decide which trip to take next. So thank you Rob, Jey and Callum for the wonderful experience.”

Very safe and lots of fun

“It’s the best way to do a surf trip. The lodge and transportation are already taken care of and you get a guide and coaches who can definitely improve your riding with detailed instruction. Very safe and lots of fun.”

Before the trip I was catching 5 waves in a 3 hour session, by the end of the trip…I caught 5 waves in 12 minutes!jose-1

“The trip is the best way for somebody to learn everything you want to know about bodyboarding. Before the trip I was catching 5 waves in a 3 hour session, by the end of the trip we had an internal tournament where I caught 5 waves in both of the 12 minute heats!”
