We were stoked, occasionally shocked and regularly amused with the amazing response to this question. Here are a few of the best from our followers from around the world.ย

“Usually I have to skip the pre-surf stretch to relieve myself in the waterโฆeveryone thinks Iโm just motivated!”
“We’ve all seen that mate walking out, gets to a certain depth, pauses……, continues walking in.”
“I’ve read it’s the body’s response to being submerged: the pressure in the body sends signals that we need to release it, and the brain chooses to do so by making you want to pee… So, being a thing that’s going to happen every time you surf, we might as well take it into consideration when testing materials for a wetsuit. You’ve probably heard the phrase; there’s two kind of surfers: those who pee in their wetsuits and those who lie”

The last thing that Colin is thinking about here is wee riddled wetsuits! Here he enjoys a perfect pit during our Costa Rica Bodyboard Trip
“I had a mate who infamously had a pee whilst stood on the beach waiting for his heat and the heat got called off!”
“Surfing without a piss… it’s like a love without a kiss!!!!”
“Boiling the kettle is a ritual…”
“Way more acceptable than dropping a log in the line up when you have Bali belly. But when you have to go you have to go!”

“I got a wetsuit with a weeing attachment!”
“I genuinely don’t understand how anyone can’t pee in their wetsuit if they have any more than an hour in the water. I’ll get myself as hydrated as possible before a sesh, getting about 2 litres of water in and then spend at least 2 hours in the water, more often than not a sesh will last 3. How can you not pee in your suit?”

“With 99% people saying yes, Iโm going to assume that the 50 people around me at Watergate Bay are constantly peeing ๐ something i canโt unsee now!”
