We loved entertaining tech legend and ex gadget show presenter Jason Bradbury last week for some bodyboard coaching. Head instructor Rob Barber commented
“It was great to enjoy a session with Jason, he picked up the skills quickly and was very analytical about his technique which made my job easy.”
As well as pushing their riding up a notch the guys also took the opportunity to try out the best boards on the market. Jason loved the QCD Barber and found the bat tail “to give an incredible sense of speed through the bottom turn”. The guys also tried out some Butchboards who are one of the UK’s only wooden paipo board manufacturers. The boards offered a completely different wave riding experience. With hardly any buoyancy but with a completely different feel to riding waves. Almost like a combination of bodysurfing and bodyboarding. It was still possible to nail cutbacks and rolls.
Discussing board design with Jason’s vast knowledge of product development was a really interesting experience for all of the crew. Jason now rides the QCD Barber board and is loving it.
