Our Bodyboard School and Depot works closely with both serving and veteran military personnel, encouraging adventure activity participation of groups from all corners of the Forces. So when Naval Veteran, Gareth Davies approached our bodyboarding team for some expert instruction as part of his rehabilitation, we were stoked to support his progression.

Having retired from the Navy because of a persistent injury, Davies set his sights on staying active around the water, finding a new lease of life through bodyboarding for injury rehabilitation and charging bigger and better waves.

As the world’s first and most developed Bodyboarding School headed up by British bodyboarding Team Coach and National Champion, Rob Barber, we 100% believe bodyboarding Is for everyone. From those wanting a challenging and physically technical sport, to those recuperating from serious injury, the weightlessness of being in the water mixed with the stoke of riding a wave, compliments all levels of skill and ability.

With the help and sponsorship of Rob Barber’s professional surf and bodyboarding team and the Bodyboarding Depot, Davies received bespoke instruction on a series of Bodyboard Coaching Weekends and holidays, designed to boost ability and bodyboarding confidence whilst hunting out the best waves along our coastline.

Davies is now set to compete in a Help For Heroes bodyboarding contest for veterans at Surf Snowdonia in Wales, busting skills built with us on professionally tailored gear in the UK’s first wave pool.

We can’t be more stoked for Davies and will be following his achievements as he continues to surf and bodyboarding for injury rehabilitation!
