Meet Alex Clark โ Bodyboard Holidays Bookings & Marketing Co-ordinator
This issue we catch up with a man who will be familiar to many as he will have handled your booking if you have signed up for one of our events.
Youโve just returned from a trip to El Salvador with the team, how did you find it?
I wanted to go in order to learn a little more about the location and allow me to explain it to the guests with more location knowledge. I was absolutely blown away by the location and canโt wait to get back. Wedgey beach break heaven, beautiful temperature and incredible local bodyboarders. I was also stoked to score these shots of me bodyboarding.
What is your favourite break in the world?
A-Frames in El Salvador and Honey Smacks in Southern Sumatra.
How did you end up working for the company?
I have been a frequent Bodyboard Holidays guest since 2004 where I joined Rob on a trip to Lanzarote.
Any funny stories?
Well I guess an interesting more than funny fact is that we have had three โBodyboard Holidays weddingsโ. By that I mean weโve had single guests who have joined our trips and got shacked up after the trip has ended, got married and in each case, they have moved country. Two of those couples have gone on to have children which is pretty special!
Whatโs the best part of your job?
I love meeting the bodyboarders from around the world and I can really confidently be matching them up with the best trip for them and I know that they will have a great time. We have a 70+ % re-booking rate so I get to know the guests really well and some have become lifelong friends.
Whatโs next for you at Bodyboard Holidays?
Well I will be visiting Southern Sumatra again in just under 2 weeks time and I canโt wait to get back out there! That is definitely a perk of the job!
Any new trends that youโre seeing in the bodyboarding world?
Weโre really behind the growth of women’s bodyboarding and our Womenโs Bodyboard Retreat is something that we are looking forward to running for the second time this summer.
Final thoughts?
Iโd like to say thanks to all of our guests for booking with us. Iโd like to say hi to the Welsh Bodyboard Club and Bristol Bodyboarder Club crew, I surf with all of these ladies and gents regularly. With out sounding too clichรฉ itโs great to have such a positive bodyboarding family, I think the sport is in a really positive place right now and will continue to grow!
Any highlights from the last year?
Working directly with Jeff Hubbard and Iain Campbell has been really great. Getting to know what makes the worldโs greatest bodyboarders tick is certainly something that Iโve enjoyed.
If youโd like to experience the waves that you see in these photos, Join us for a bodyboarding holiday in El Salvador!
