Join Our Bodyboarding Weekend In Wales

When you think of Wales you might think of sizable mountains, rugged landscapes, waterfalls and sheep. And you’d be right. But sitting on top of all those things (or rather – at the bottom) is the coastline of Wales. South Wales in particular is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Britain, and for those who haven’t bypassed it for the south-west of England, it can reward you with the most magnificent views whilst bodyboarding in Wales.

Attracting surfers, van-lifers, hikers and bodyboarders alike, it’s easy to see why one particular part of South Wales was the first of its kind in the UK. The Gower was awarded an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty back in 1956, and the beauty that earned that highest of accolades still remains today. The peninsula plays host to epic golden stretches of sand, dramatic cliffs, stunning views and welcoming country pubs.

For all of these reasons and more, we have made Llangennith beach the base for our incredible bodyboarding weekend in Wales. Join us as we pitch up overlooking the ocean and coach you through three separate bodyboarding sessions, each one individually analysed for a fully immersive learning experience.

What To Expect Bodyboarding In Wales

Our weekend bodyboarding in Wales is a super chilled couple of days where you can enjoy the stunning surroundings while improving all aspects of your bodyboarding technique. We welcome everyone from complete newbie to seasoned pro, you will be coached entirely at your own pace so there’s no danger of falling behind or waiting for others to catch up.

We base ourselves at Llangennith beach which is on the exposed west coast of Rhossili Bay. This stunning stretch of beach provides a variety of bodyboarding breaks suitable for any skill level. There are huge expanses of open beach, peaky A-frames, hollow shories and punchy reefs. You are sure to find something here to match your style and ability, and the sheer size of the beach means you won’t have to wait for it either.

Heading to the beach with like-minded boogers, you’re sure to not only improve your bodyboarding ability, but also make some awesome friends over the course of the weekend. We can appreciate that this might be a totally new experience for some people and so we focus on bringing everybody together as a big family to enjoy the ocean. Together we will enjoy the waves, weather, BBQ and drinks for an epic weekend you’ll want to do again and again.

Where To Stay When Bodyboarding In Wales

To really embrace the full weekend and get a sense of what wild Wales can offer, we suggest checking out the camping options at Hillend Campsite. This perfectly placed campsite sits just at the foot of Rhossili Down, making it a superb choice for our bodyboarding weekend. The campsite allows tents, campervans and caravans all for a modest price. Hillend can reach capacity fairly fast during the busier months so we always recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

If you’re not quite confident sleeping under the stars (or rain), then there are alternative options in the area surrounding the Gower. The nearby, beautiful 17th century Kings Head Inn has rooms available if you’re looking for something a bit more luxurious.

Alternatively there are plenty of AirBnb’s around if you don’t mind travelling a little further to and from the beach each day. Again we recommend booking as early as possible to guarantee your accommodation during our bodyboarding weekend in Wales.

More accessible from the Midlands and the North compared to Cornwall or Devon, South Wales provides the perfect weekend opportunity to learn or improve your bodyboarding ability. Embrace the wild Atlantic ocean, enjoy evening drinks around the soft glow of a barbecue and release your inner explorer by camping under the stars. We’d love to see you soon on our Wales Bodyboarding Weekend. Head to our website or call our friendly team on 01637 879571 to find out more.
