Europe

Bodyboarding in Europe, throughout this eclectic continent, is a never-ending dream.

Which is why we at Bodyboard-Holidays have made it our mission to take you to its best waves at the best times of year.  You can experience for yourself the most tempting fruits of Europe.

Check out our range of trips below and find the perfect one for you:

Europe

This part of the world is unique in that travelling between its nations is fast, easy and incredibly rewarding. Whether you’re in the UK, France, Spain or Portugal, you’re never too far from a coastline and that means an abundance of waves!

In visiting the countries of Europe you of course get quality surf, but you also get to experience so much more – including different languages, foods and cultures, all in super close proximity, and within easy reach of the many budget airlines criss-crossing the continent.

On a wider scale, Europe has one of the planet’s best swell-generating machines to thank for everything it gets: the North Atlantic Ocean. It delivers some of the most consistent waves anywhere in the world, giving us travelling bodyboarders a huge variety of options to suit up and get wet.

Portugal Bodyboarding

Away from Northern Europe, we head south and explore more hot and sunny climates for the best bodyboarding in Portugal. A gorgeous wave-rich destination, there are very few countries which can offer such a tantalising selection of brilliant beaches and wedges, perfectly set up to help your bodyboarding reach that next level.

Our bodyboard holidays in Portugal are the perfect antidote after a static winter. With dates in November and May, you can extend your summer.

During your bodyboard holiday in Portugal you can expect to stay in some of the nicest accommodation in the area. Kick back and relax in our huge luxury mansion in the historic and wave rich town of Lagos. This light and airy villa, with its huge living areas, balconies, pool and barbeque area, strong wifi throughout and games room, really is the ideal location to relax after an epic day bodyboarding in Portugal.

What’s more, our luxury villa is also within walking distance to Lagos’ vibrant centre. This exciting Portuguese delight has a variety of shops, grocery stores, a bakery, a pizzeria, bars, pharmacy and a choice of restaurants serving typically delicious Portuguese dishes. You’ll have the perfect fuel for your time away bodyboard surfing in Portugal!

We stay in the heart of the action, bodyboarding some of the best beaches on the Iberian Peninsula. It’s no wonder multiple world champion bodyboarder Pierre Louis Costes now calls this place home!

Bodyboarding in Portugal will allow you to experience a mix of cultures and incredible gastronomy, as well as see stunning mountains, forests and varied coastlines, open to swell from the north, west and south.

Other destinations

The popularity of bodyboarding in other European nations is growing exponentially too. In Scotland you’ll find many a crystal-clear gem, inevitably tucked away behind incredible landscapes, lush green pastures and long-haired Viking/cow hybrids.

France Bodyboarding

France has a huge bodyboardable coastline, starting in Brittany in the northwest, an intricately beautiful region of secluded bays, gorgeous beaches and quiet coves, facing in every single direction.

Head down the coast and you come to the long, golden stretches of sand towards Hossegor in the south, where you can find endless warm-water peaks, surfable in board shorts.

With a westerly swell and an easterly wind, here you’ll find some of the very best beach breaks in the world at La Graviere and Capbreton.

A summer favourite, if it’s crowded just take a short stroll down the long beach, and more often than not you’ll have an equally good peak all to yourself.

Spain Bodyboarding

In Spain, the Cantabrian, Asturian and Galician regions pack some of the most beautiful stretches of coastline you’ll ever see – backed by soaring forested hills and snow-capped mountains, here you can bodyboard a staggering variety of waves, all alongside some of the best food and traditional culture you’ll find anywhere.

From the 300-yard walls of Mundaka to the playful A-frame waves of Playa de Andrin (not to mention a treasure trove of equally excellent spots around most corners), the Spanish north coast is alive with bodyboarding, and some of the sport’s top riders, like Basque rider Alex Uranga.
