Rob Barber gets some tube time.

This years Indonesia Coaching Trip got off to a flying start with fun waves on Bali’s west coast and amazing waves in Nusa Lembongan. Now the group are preparing themselves to island hop back to Bali to meet a fun head and a half sized swell which is due to light up all of the best spots on the island.

The Fastest Spinner Ever!

Greg Stansfield from Yorkshire, but now living in Australia has been loving his first few days of the trip and has surfed his brains out with sessions at reef breaks and fun beach breaks. On the afternoon session of day two we focused Greg’s attention on nailing spins as he’d never landed one before. After warming up, watching the waves, visualizing the move and then having each aspect of a spin broken down in to body movements and wave position Greg paddled out to give it a go. Within 40 minutes, as the sun began to set over Bali, Greg nailed two spins on one wave. This is officially the fastest that any individual has learned threesixty’s in over 10 years of running our Bodyboard Coaching Holidays. Impressive skills Greg!

The Best Instructors

Before the course began our hand picked, qualified and experienced staff met to complete their pre course training. We welcome new instructor Ephrem from France (now living in Bali) to the team and welcome back long term instructors Aidan Salmon and Brendan Moore. The team share a love for bodyboarding and have wasted no time passing on their years of experience about every aspect of the sport to the group. This years trip sees bodyboarders from France, Portugal, Australia, Wales, Ireland, Estonia and England. We’re stoked that 85% of the riders on the trip have been on one of our holidays before, but are back for more.

The group have surfed over 12 different spots so far and now that they’re back on the Buckit with more swell on the way the plans are to keep up the tempo of two surfs a day with plenty of video analysis and in water photography to keep the improvements coming.

Beats paddling out, just dive off the side and paddle over to the perfect peak. Ridiculous hat optional!
